Since March 2023, the team led by Qu Tao at AlanDesign has officially participated in the Chinese localization of the OpenPnP open-source pick-and-place software, aiming to provide Chinese users with more accurate, easy-to-understand interface text and terminology that better reflect real-world SMT application scenarios.
OpenPnP is a widely used open-source pick-and-place control software worldwide. Its highly open architecture and active community ecosystem have made it a preferred solution for many engineers, R&D teams, and small factories.

Continuous Maintenance and Synchronization with Official Releases
During our participation in the localization process, we closely track official OpenPnP releases and continuously maintain the Chinese language content to ensure that the Chinese interface is updated promptly and remains compatible with new features and interface changes.
Our goal is not merely to “translate into Chinese”, but to:
Keep terminology consistent with OpenPnP’s original design logic
Combine real SMT application scenarios and avoid rigid literal translations
Improve the usability and clarity of the Chinese interface for both new and professional users
Community Participation in Translation
Chinese localization is a continuous improvement process.
If you encounter any of the following while using OpenPnP:
Some Chinese translations are not accurate enough
Terminology does not fully match real engineering practices
You have more appropriate or professional translation suggestions
You are welcome to participate in discussions and improvements through the official OpenPnP forum, helping to improve Chinese language support together.
Official PRs and Translation Submissions
All localization-related changes are submitted through the official OpenPnP GitHub repository and reviewed via the Pull Request (PR) process.
